The Department of English presides over the academic environment of the college by offering the flagship undergraduate programme of English Language and Literature, apart from teaching the language courses of English to students of other streams of undergraduate programmes. The course has been specifically designed and streamlined to impart historical perspective on the language, its tradition and literature to the students. Moreover, it emphasizes the communicative aspect with the clear objective of enhancing skills both in the written and spoken variety of the language.
